The center will concentrate on everything from designing better wind turbine components such as aerodynamic blades to conducting atmospheric-science research.
"The strongest wind turbine Siemens currently makes has a capacity of 3.6 megawatts, according to the company. The one being used in Colorado will have a 2.3-megawatt capacity." 3.6 to 2.3 isn't that bad?
@dotell the article mentions that the new turbines will be used for aerodynamic blades to conducting atmospheric-science research, after reading that I'm assuming these turbines are more focused on R&D then generating power, with the hope of being able to generate even more than the current max of 3.6 megawatts in the future. Does that make sense?
