Internet companies to block child porn sites: report

    I'm all for doing anything possible to fight child porn but doesn't this take away Verizon, Sprint, and Time Warner Cable's safe harbor claims when it comes to things like the DMCA? If they can police child porn, why not illegal movies, music, or other copyrighted material?

    @IceNineJon good point. Also, how do they obtain a complete list of child pornography sites? It seems like they can block some but not all. I expect blockages like this to grow as internet companies struggle to have enough bandwidth to satisfy their customers.

    While both can be filed in the categry of "illegal internet materials," I think the harm caused by child pornography is far beyond that of illegal movies and music. I know many movie studios and music artists may disagree with me...
